Mixology is a term used to describe the art of mixing cocktails. We continue to see this term more, and more; at parties, on Pinterest and in restaurants and bars. To be blunt most of us think of it as just that, mixing cocktails. However, we must argue the value of a mixologist versus a bartender is very different. A bartender makes and serves drinks. Where a mixologist focuses on the science and composition of a drink. Kind of like a cook vs. a chef. A mixologist develops cocktails using different technologies, science, unique ingredients, and of course culinary knowledge. It really is an artform, and since gaining momentum at the beginning of the decade, we have been immersed in the vast world of mixology. We have spent a great deal of time sourcing and sampling new products and techniques and we can’t wait to share all of our knowledge with you! Starting with our beverage recipe collection!
In fact, we appreciate the art of mixology so much, we are dedicating the entire month of June to it. We are looking forward to sharing different cocktail recipes, products, tools, and promotions with you. Be sure to follow along on our social media channels to ensure you don’t miss out! Oh, and did we mention we are going to be giving away some great prizes? – Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter.
We also want to see what you've got!
We’re excited to launch our mixology contest - happening on social media! We wanted all of you to join in on the fun, and what better way than with a contest! The winner will receive an amazing gift pack and have their recipe featured on our website! The contest is simple, post a photo, along with the recipe for your favorite mixed drink. All you have to do is tag us in the photo, and use the hashtag #wsmixologymonth. The only rules – the post must be made between June 1 - 31, 2017, the recipe must be your own, you must follow us on Instagram and/or like us on Facebook, and you need to be a Canadian resident. We can’t wait to see your submissions…time to get mixin!
