On August 13th 2017, Julie Van Rosendaal wrote,

Wouldn’t it be great if we could combat all the images of angry torch-bearing racists with images of people carrying casseroles? And curries and baklava and pie — to a backyard barbecue or picnic? To have peaceful pluralist potlucks and picnics everywhere, and use those garden torches to illuminate conversation and real connection? To gather people in our communities and spread the message that bigotry and hate are unacceptable, that love wins — and brings pie? Let’s do some things. I have some ideas."

We instantly loved this idea and last year, we hosted our first event for #ProjectPotluck. It was a hit and we're excited to tell you we're hosting another one this year on August 26th.

Join us in the parking lot at Well Seasoned: A Gourmet Food Store. We will have tiki torches and food to share. Bring your casseroles, curries, baklava, pie & beverages etc. Bring your own chairs, plates & cutlery and glassware - just like a picnic. We will break bread, share some laughs and get to know our community. Hope you can make it. #lovewins #projectpotluck

Project Potluck Returns to Langley on August 26

[Langley, BC] On August 26 (5:30pm-8:30pm), Angie Quaale, event organizer, will once again light up tiki torches in the parking lot of Well Seasoned Gourmet Food Store to welcome the return of Project Potluck. Quaale invites the public to come together for this 2nd Annual community potluck. Attendees must bring with them an awesome attitude, and a willingness to share. Bring your favorite family-sized dish, along with your own cutlery, plates and folding chairs.

"Food is a catalyst in bringing people together to create community. A potluck, especially, is a fantastic way to bring friends and neighbors together. It's easy on the budget and a fun way to break bread. Last year's Project Potluck event attracted more than 100 community members who gathered on very short notice to celebrate peace, love and PIE. I look forward to welcoming even more members of our community to join us for another fantastic evening," shares Quaale, event organizer for Project Potluck in Langley.
