Honey Sesame Chicken Wings

These honey sesame chicken wings are just delicious. The recipe is certainly worth the little bit of effort required! This one is a keeper!
Honey Sesame Chicken Wings

Ingredients
Chicken:
- 1lb raw chicken wings
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp tahini
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1½ tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
- ½ cup plain flour
- Oil spray
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp. sherry
- ¾ cup chicken broth / stock
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 3½ tbsp. honey
- 1½ tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
Cornstarch:
- 1½ tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp. water
To Cook:
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
Garnish:
- 1 green onion, sliced
- ½ tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
- Preheat oven to 425F with shelf placed on the highest level.
- Generously oil a sheet pan.
- Mix tahini and soy sauce in a bowl and add chicken, salt & sesame seeds.
- In a separate bowl add the flour – remove chicken from liquid & coat in the flour, shaking off excess.
- Place chicken on a foiled tray (for easy clean up).
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- Remove from oven.
- Turn the oven to broil with shelf about 6" from the heat source.
- Turn chicken.
- Broiler/grill for 5 minutes until golden and quite crispy, then remove.
Sauce
- Mix together the sauce ingredients in one bowl and cornstarch in another.
- Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the sauce and bring to bubble.
- Add cornstarch and cook for 30 seconds until it thickens into a thick syrup.
- Remove the sauce immediately from the stove and pour over the chicken.
- Toss chicken in the sauce then sprinkle over sesame seeds and the green onion to serve.
