Enjoy this tasty South Indian dish featuring red lentils and delicious Monsoon Coast Exotic World Spices (Kerala Chaunk).

- 1 cup red lentils (masoor dal), rinsed
- 3 cups water
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup coconut milk
- 3 tbsp Monsoon Coast Kerala Chaunk* that have been sautéed quickly in 2 tbsp coconut oil
*Available from Well Seasoned
1. Combine lentils, water, turmeric, salt, and garlic in a saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook 15–20 minutes until soft and creamy.
3. Stir in coconut milk and heat gently.
4. Just before serving, spoon Monsoon Coast chaunk evenly over the dal, including oil and aromatics.
5. Swirl lightly & serve.
Serves 4-6 people
