These buns include your favourite Thursday Cottage Jam instead of cinnamon sugar. They're perfect for a breakfast treat or with afternoon tea.
Expert Tips:
- 180ml milk
- 30g butter, melted
- 1 medium egg
- 375g plain flour
- 5g dried yeast
- 40g sugar
- 3g salt
- 1 jar of your favourite Thursday Cottage Jam* 210g
_ 150g cream cheese
_ 150g icing sugar

1. Whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the wet ingredients and stir until a loose dough comes together.
3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured worktop and knead for 5 minutes. Pop the dough into a bowl, cover, and leave to rise for one hour (or overnight in the fridge).
4. Roll out the dough to approximately 20” by 14”. Spread one whole jar of Thursday Cottage Jam over the dough before taking hold of the long end and rolling it into a cylinder.
5. Cut the cylinder into 12 pieces and arrange them in your baking tray or pie dish. Cover with clingfilm or a damp tea towel and leave for an hour or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat the oven to 190C/170C (fan)/gas mark 5. Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes, or until golden.
7. Whilst the buns are cooling, whisk together the icing sugar and cream cheese to create a loose icing. Spread the icing over the buns and leave to set slightly before enjoying with a cup of tea.
